Peace Talks come to Southern Cross University — Coffs Harbour campus
Coffs Harbour campus of Southern Cross University is one of the first to kick off a series of 40 Peace Talks that will be presented at 40 different university campuses around Australia over the next few years.
More than ever, our fragile planet needs peace — inner peace and outer peace; peace among people and peace among nations. The talks will highlight the international Peace Run and its founder Sri Chinmoy.
Forty years ago, during his first visit to Australia, Sri Chinmoy offered these words of optimism:
“There shall come a time when this world of ours will be flooded with peace. Who is going to bring about that radical change? It will be you: you and your sisters and brothers, who are an extension of your reality-existence. It will be you and your oneness-heart, which is spread throughout the length and breadth of the world.”
Sri Chinmoy spent is life serving this dream, offering Peace Concerts worldwide, founding the international Peace Run, and directing the Peace Meditations at the United Nations in New York.
The talks and multimedia presentations are an opportunity to hear first-hand accounts of the life and work of Sri Chinmoy and the unique world-view of this truly remarkable man.
The upcoming Coffs Harbour talk will be held on June 16, Thursday, 9:30 a.m. in Lecture theatre D350, Block D of Southern Cross University. Other SCU campuses will also host the talks — Lismore (June 14) and Gold Coast (June 21).
