Zimbabwe stuns Sri Lanka to claim ODI series win

ZIMBABWE have secured a memorable one-day international series win in Sri Lanka.

The visitors sealed their first ODI series win against a full member nation since 2001, winning the decider by three wickets to earn a 3-2 series win, their first in six attempts against Sri Lanka.

Zimbabwe captain Graeme Cremer sent the hosts into bat after winning the toss with his bowlers restricting the Sri Lankan bats to 8-203 off 50 overs.

In reply Zimbabwean opener Hamilton Masakadza lead from the front scoring 73 runs before the tourists reached 204 in the 39th over.

Masakadza scored his runs in 86 deliveries, including nine fours and a six.

Offspinner Sikandar Raza was instrumental in Zimbabwe's win recording ODI career best figures of 3-21.
