Youth Week hits town

HERE'S a list of some of what's happening on the Coffs Coast for Youth Week:

Emo the Musical free screening, Jetty Memorial Theatre on Thursday. Free double feature movie night at the Jetty Theatre to celebrate National Youth Week. The event starts at 5pm with the SWIFF Audience Award-winning film Zach's Ceremony, followed by the new Aussie comedy Emo the Musical screening at 8pm. Both films are rated M. Bookings are essential and can be made for free via jettytheatre.com.

Youth Homelessness Matters Day - Coffs Harbour City Square, Harbour Dr, Wednesday, 10am to 2pm. Entertainment and music raising public awareness on couch surfing. Youth Homelessness events will also be held at Woolgoolga and Orara high schools and in the evening an event for over 18 year olds will be held at the Coffs Hotel.

Mid Coast Communities' Groundworks Youth Centre events:

  • The Yellow Door Art Exhibition, runs until April 13, top floor of Coffs Central showcasing artworks by young people from the Coffs Coast.
  • On Tuesday , Mid Coast Communities is facilitating a Coffs Harbour Youth Futures Forum. The event is aimed at gathering feedback from local youth about their thoughts and concerns and will be at the Boambee East Community Centre from 9.30am to 2.30pm.
  • On Friday a three-on- three basketball competition will be held and an activities night for under 18 year olds at Key Employment from 3.30pm till 9pm. You need to let them know if you will be going.
