Youth, 16, attacked at Sapphire
A YOUTH was treated for multiple injuries in an assault at Sapphire early yesterday.
Police said the 16-year-old was in Headland Road at 12.10am when a carload of males pulled up and attacked him.
Police were called to the scene and the teenager was taken by paramedics to hospital where he was treated for a suspected broken collarbone and received six stitches for a cut to his ear and another three stitches for a cut to his scalp. Police were searching for a white car as their inquiries continue.

IN other news, police are looking for a man who damaged a cab outside the Pier Hotel on Wednesday night. Officers said the man had been drinking at the pub with friends and left about 9.40pm to get into a cab.
A fight broke out when he apparently jumped the queue and he hurled a glass, smashing a window on the maxi taxi.
The man fled the scene.
Police have cautioned a 17-year-old after complaints about his pranks with a blow-up doll and a slingshot.
Officers received complaints on Wednesday afternoon about youths firing a slingshot along Waterfall Way at Fernmount and Bellingen.
An off-duty paramedic also told police she had been struck by an inflatable doll thrown from a car while she rode her pushbike.
Police found the car in Bellingen’s Church Street and issued a stern warning to the teenager.
