YOUR SAY: Vote for the new Mountaineers logo

BASKETBALL: After 50 years, the Toowoomba Basketball Association has officially handed over the Mountaineers Queensland Basketball League program to the new board.

Now the Toowoomba Mountaineers Ltd looks ahead to the next 50 years with a new approach.

Board member John Gouldson said they planned to run this year's QBL program in a more professional way.

"The new board is a good mix of business and basketball people," he said.

"The fears we are unable to compete in the league are gone and the board is confident we have raised sufficient funds to run the program sustainably."

Part of the new approach is changing the look of the Toowoomba Mountaineers starting with the logo.

The board has come up with three options and is giving the community the final say.
