YOUR SAY: Six popular wedding venues on the Fraser Coast

THERE is a great choice of places to get married or hold a reception on the Fraser Coast with parks and gardens   gardens, and a plethora of churches and chapels.

1. Waterfront Restaurant

The award winning Waterfront Restaurant in Hervey Bay was a popular choice as voted by our Facebook followers as one of the most beautiful venues to get married.

Kim Howson commented on the "great food" and "lovely wedding planner." She got married at the Chinese Gardens and had her reception at the Waterfront Restaurant.

2. Hervey Bay Boat Club's Fraser Room - overlooking the marina

Lara Lawson suggested this venue. The popular location has views of world heritage listed Fraser Island and the Great Sandy Straits and is amongst the water front harbour scenery.

3. Kingfisher Bay, Fraser Island

Jess Bleakley described it as "beautiful" with natural scenery.

4. Toogoom on the beach / Goodys on the Beach 

Margarita Drewsen describes this wedding location as "perfect."

If you want your wedding and reception all in one location, Goodys on the Beach is for you. You can have your ceremony on the jetty or the beach at Toogoom and a reception at Goodys without having to travel far.

5.  Botanical Gardens, Hervey Bay  

Sharny Hetherington loves the Bush Chapel at the Botanical Gardens, while another reader chose the Chinese Gardens. 

The Botanic Gardens are located on a 26-hectare property with natural bushes, formal gardens and wetlands for pretty and natural wedding settings.

6. Purnella Park Coachhouse 

 

Purnella Park Coach House used to be known as the Cobb and Co grounds in Takura some time back. It is now open to weddings and events. 

Melissa Kattenberg describes it as "beautiful" and can't wait to watch her sister get married there.

7. Queens Park, Maryborough

Queens Park was established back in 1860 and many of its beautiful huge trees were planted before 1900. If you want a venue that features beautiful fernery or perhaps a waterfall, Queens Park is idea.

8. In a paddock or on the beach

Kasey Dietz got married in her paddock with the stables in the background and she rode in on her Arabian horse. It was perfect.....for us. There are many gorgeous places around the Fraser Coast and there's a location to suit everyone.
