Your chance to thank Dad

A DAD is someone who wants to catch you before you fall, but instead picks you up, brushes you off and lets you try again.

A dad is someone who wants to keep you from making mistakes, but instead lets you find your own way, even though his heart breaks in silence when you get hurt.

A dad is someone who holds you when you cry, scolds you when you break the rules, shines with pride when you succeed, and has faith in you even when you fail.

Anyone can be a father, but it takes a lot to be a dad.

Moving words in tribute to fathers everywhere.

As Father's Day approaches on Sunday, September 6, The Advocate is planning a special readers' tribute to local dads.

Here's your chance to honour the role models in your life with a free touching message that can be treasured forever in print.

Today and over the next three Saturdays we'll publish a link on The Coffs Coast Advocate Facebook page asking you to submit a photo of a legendary dad.

Please include your dad's name with his photo and leave a special message, up to 100 words, signing off from yourself and the kids.

You may like to tell the world why he's such a great dad, write a tribute to him or share a special memory.

Photos and tributes can also be emailed to editor@coffscoastadvocate.com.au or dropped into the Advocate office, 144-148 West High St, Coffs Harbour.
