Own a slice of town's food market for less than $100,000
A CHANCE to own your own slice of the tightly-held food market in this country town outside Toowoomba has become available.
Oakey's only takeaway food franchise, Pizza Hut, has hit the market with the current owners keen to sell after they relocated to the Sunshine Coast.
The Campbell St store is the only franchised outlet in town and has been listed for sale at a reduced $99,000 plus stock at valuation.
The popular outlet, which last year recorded more than $450,000 in revenue last financial year, has been owned by the sellers since 2012 and in 2016, successfully rebranded when Pizza Hut bought out the embattled Eagle Boys brand.
Proactive Business Sales agent Paul Price said it was a prime opportunity for a local buyer or family to take over the store.
"It has been on the market for about three months," Mr Price said.
"They employ a lot of local high school students on traineeships.
"It has been running under management (so it) definitely won't close down (while it is sold).
"It would be ideal for a local family because that's the type of business that it is."
The online listing described the store as "an affordable small business with a long trading history", backed by the world's largest franchise, Pizza hut.
"With no other pizza franchises in town, Pizza Hut Oakey enjoys regular business from the local residents in Oakey and surrounding townships.
"A full-time working owner would be the (ideal) person to take this business to the next level and maximise the profit."
