You’ll never guess who just became a doctor

HE'S one of the all-time leading wicket takers for Australia.

He's enjoyed a successful stint in England.

He was a South Australian legend.

He's now a doctor.

Know who we're talking about?

Doctor Dizzy of course.

Jason 'Dizzy' Gillespie has been handed an honorary degree from Leeds Beckett University.

The successful Yorkshire county coach is set to be handed an Honorary Doctorate of Sport Science later this month, recognising his efforts at restoring Yorkshire back to the summit of English County Cricket, securing their first county title in 13 years in 2014 before defending their title again last season.

He took 259 wickets in 71 Tests for Australia, claiming 402 scalps in total across all forms of international cricket.

The latest honour is another addition to an impressive CV for the fast bowler who, surprisingly, is probably best remembered for his double century against Bangladesh in his final Test in 2006.

What was meant to be a standard night-watchman role turned into an epic display of shotmaking as Dizzy tore up the record books on his way to 201 not out, cementing his place in the hearts of cricket tragics around the world.
