You can vote pre-poll now

THE 2011 New South Wales election is under way with pre-poll voting now available for those who want to get in early or who won't be able to get to a polling booth on Saturday, March 26.

In the Coffs Harbour electorate the Norm Jordan Pavilion at the Showground is open for voting between 8am and 6pm through until this Friday.

Ballot papers for the 93 Legislative Assembly Districts and the Legislative Council have been printed and postal voting material (including ballot papers) have been sent to the 180,000 NSW electors who have requested them. Postal vote applications from within Australia must be received by the electoral commission by Wednesday week, March 23.

Voting is compulsory for enrolled electors. The penalty for not voting is $55.
