Would you like to work with wood?
THE Mid North Coast Woodworkers Club has organised for Len Mengel to conduct a demonstration and workshop on October 14 and 15.
Len is from Brisbane and he's is a long-time demonstrator, appearing also at the annual Gold Coast Turnfest.
He is noted for his off-set turning and will demonstrate his skills in this area and other facets of wood-turning and also will discuss the pros and cons of a number of chucks available for eccentric (off set) turning and explain how to use them.
October 14 will be a demonstration at the Exhibition Pavilion, Coffs Harbour showground. Held over four sessions, the demonstration will cover most aspects of wood turning starting 9am and finishing at 5pm.
Len promises there will be something for all levels, from beginners to accomplished.
The Sunday workshop, October 15, also runs 9am to 5pm. Participants will receive hands-on training and instruction from Len and provided a lathe and tools to work with. If you prefer, you are welcome to bring your own tools.
Places are limited to eight for this workshop so it's first in best dressed.
Lunch, morning and afternoon tea will be provided on both days.
Registrations/payments close September 30. To book contact Dally Sullivan at firstname.lastname@example.org or 0402 587 602.
