Woopi Wildcats claw win over Coffs Lionesses

LAST year's grand final winners, the Coffs Lionesses went down this afternoon to the Woopi Wildcats at the Clive Joass Memorial Field in Woolgoolga.

The Wildcats scored their winning goal toward the end of the second half, taking out the game 2-1 against the Lionesses.

Wildcats coach, Kym Batty said the win against last year's grand final winners puts the team in good stead for the season ahead.

"It's nice to get one up on them they're (Coffs United) a tough feat for us," she said.

"I think everyone put in a top effort so I'm really happy with them (the Wildcats)."
