Woopi petrol stays the same price yet is more affordable

PETROL prices in Woolgoolga have remained steady despite the town rising significantly on the NRMA's Bowser Buster ranking of most affordable fuel locations.

Woolgoolga, often ranked about the 50th cheapest place for ULP in NSW, is this week ranked as the 14th cheapest location.

The town has been hovering near the top of the chart in recent weeks, ranked as the third cheapest spot on July 5 and the fifth cheapest on July 19.

Despite the jump, ULP prices have remained near the $1.38 per litre mark.

"The average price hasn't changed," NRMA spokesman Peter Khoury said.

"The reason you have gone from being one of the most expensive to one of the cheapest is because other towns may have been discounting their prices, which have now gone up.

"At $1.38, Woolgoolga is largely on par with the rest of the state - but we would like to see those prices come down a bit as they're pretty high."
