Woopi man to face court

A MAN will face court later this month charged with cultivating a cannabis plantation with an estimated street value of $160,000.

Police say a search warrant was executed at a Waterloo Street, Woolgoolga, home on Thursday morning at 8.15am, where 59 cannabis plants were found growing in a bedroom.

A further 18 cannabis plants were discovered in the back yard, while a large amount of cannabis leaf was also seized from the house.

The raid involved police attached to the Coffs Clarence Command’s Target Action Group and the Criminal Investigation Branch.

A 49-year-old man was charged with cultivating a prohibited plant and possessing a prohibited drug.

He is due to appear in Coffs Harbour Local Court on May 30.
