Woolgoolga Winter Concert set to wow
COFFS Harbour City Orchestra is on its way back to Woolgoolga - don't miss a fantastic opportunity to hear a live orchestral performance in your very own backyard.
The orchestra is a local affair with a number of players residing in the area.
"The orchestra has always had a number of players from Woolgoolga and the Northern Beaches, including at present a clarinet player, violinist, trumpeter, viola player and saxophonist," conductor Tim Egan said.
"We love playing at Yeates Hall, so it has become a bit of an annual tradition."
The orchestra will perform at Yeates Hall in Scarborough St at 2pm on Sunday.
The show is a value-for-money family outing with admission at the door $12 for adults, $10 for children and school-age children free of charge.
This year's Woolgoolga Winter Concert has something for everyone with well-loved classics from famous composers such as Schubert, Tchaikovsky, Elgar and Beethoven, as well as some Latin American numbers and modern movie themes.
The concert also includes a trio performance of a piece composed by the brother of one of the orchestra members, a duet performance of some traditional Yiddish music and a special performance by conductor Tim Egan on trumpet playing What a Wonderful World with full orchestral backing.
The performance is a rare opportunity for a small town to witness a show generally reserved for concert halls and is sure to be an afternoon of great entertainment.
