Woolgoolga High teachers strike

TEACHERS at Woolgoolga High School will stop work today in support of a fellow teacher denied a service transfer.

The NSW Teachers Federation claims a teacher at Chifley College, Mount Druitt, has been denied the right to transfer, a move that 'makes a mockery' of the transfer system.

Coffs Harbour Teachers' Association vice president Dick McDermott said without the transfer system, teachers will be unwilling to accept postings to far western and metropolitan west schools such as Mount Druitt.

Tomorrow's stop work meeting is part of the union's rolling stoppages in protest against Government changes to staffing.
