Woodlock returned as AFL president

JIM Woodlock has been returned as president of AFL North Coast after Monday night’s Annual General Meeting at the C-Ex Club.

A steady attendance unanimously returned Woodlock to the post vacated by Rod McPherson who served two years in the role.

Woodlock’s knowledge and experience will be valuable especially with the new operations manager set to be announced some time next month.

The new person will take up a lot of the responsibilities and duties currently performed by members of the committee.

In other elections, Steve Shelley will serve as vice-president while Jill Woodlock was returned as treasurer and Luke Turner as registrar and publicity and website manager.

The meeting also looked at a possible move from Under 18s to Under 17s, and also reducing the Senior competition to 16-a-side, in line with under-18s and reserves.

The move to uuder-17s was deemed as something to look to in the future, but not for next season.

There was general support for the 16-a-side senior competition with the motion to be confirmed one way or another at the next meeting in early December.
