Women celebrate with inspiration

IT’S being billed as a big day out for the ladies, the Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter’s celebration of International Women’s Day.

Marking the 100th anniversary of the day dedicated to women, the function will be held at Charlie’s Restaurant in the Novotel Pacific Bay Resort on March 8.

Rescue helicopter spokeswoman Lauren Busse said inspirational local women will inspire on the day.

Guest speakers include Kerrie Fraser, the wife of politician Andrew Fraser; Heather McKinnon, a lawyer and foundation member of Women’s Health Service; and Stephanie Small, author of Defining Forty.

“I would like to encourage women of all ages to come. The luncheon will not only be a day to celebrate women, but it will inspire us. International Women’s Day is a day that all women across the world should be a part of,” Ms Busse said.

Guests will receive a two-course meal, with canapes and champagne on arrival.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Lismore-based rescue helicopter service.
