Woman’s body found on Aussie beach

A woman's body has been discovered at a beach in Sydney's east.

A passer-by found the body at the northern end of Maroubra beach about 12.10am on Friday, police say.

Initial police inquiries suggest the woman's death is not suspicious and she is yet to be formally identified, however, investigations are continuing.

Seven News is reporting police are investigating whether the woman had gone into the surf for a late night swim.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
