Woman uninjured in highway crash

A YOUNG woman is the latest motorist to come to grief on the horror stretch of the Pacific Highway south of Urunga.

The 20-year-old was driving her Daihatsu Charade north in heavy rain at 10.30am this morning when she skidded off the road and slammed into a tree.

The woman, who was the sole occupant, was shaken and shocked but was otherwise uninjured in the smash, which happened about two kilometres south of Urunga, police said.

Paramedics were not required at the scene but RTA crews were called in to stop southbound traffic for about 30 minutes during the salvage operation.
