Woman stabbed in neck

A DOMESTIC disturbance turned bloody on Saturday night when a Coffs Harbour man armed with a carving knife allegedly stabbed a woman in the neck and assaulted a young girl.

Around 10.35pm an argument between a 45-year-old man and two women broke out at an Argyle Street home.

A police spokesman said it was alleged the man armed himself with a carving knife and threatened the two women, one aged 34 and the other 15.

The 34-year-old woman sustained a laceration to her neck before the man was disarmed by other occupants of the house.

The man was arrested and charged with reckless wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. He was to appear in local court yesterday.
