Woman leads RBT police 25km on 'slow' highway chase

A WOMAN may have driven up to 25km overnight as she led police on a 'slow speed' pursuit on the Pacific Highway.

She allegedly failed to stop for a random breath test on Split Solitary Islands Way at Emerald Beach and police are concerned her vehicle was a dark, moving object to other motorists for at least part of the journey.

After leaving Emerald Beach the procession of the woman and up to six police vehicles continued through Coffs Harbour via Hogbin Drive to the southern reaches of the city.

When she attempted a U-turn to head north again, officers were able to safely stop the vehicle and make an arrest.

It's alleged she returned a positive roadside reading and was taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station for further questioning.
