Woman is accused of attacking teen

A YOUNG woman was unceremoniously punched in the face on Saturday morning.

The incident occurred when the 18-year-old had finished dancing with her friends at the Coffs Harbour Hotel at around 1am and attempted to return to her seat.

Coffs Harbour Police sergeant Lee Thomas said a woman tapped the victim on her shoulder and she faced the accused she was hit.

The accused, a 26-year-old Coffs Harbour woman, is known to the teenager.

Sgt Thomas said the entire incident was caught on CCTV and there were many witnesses to the assault.

“We won’t tolerance violence, at all,” he said.

“We will speak to the accused and we will lay charges.”

Sgt Thomas said all matters of violence will be investigated by police.

“We will take appropriate action,” he said.

“As long as it is reported, we can act.”

 

POLICE want to speak to anyone who witnessed a golf buggy being stolen.

Thieves cut a padlock and chain to the buggy in Arrawarra between 6.40pm on Friday and 6.40am on Saturday.
