Woman injured in accident

A WOMAN was lucky to escape with minor injuries after a dramatic car crash at Woolgoolga yesterday.

About 9am the woman was attempting to drive across the Pacific Hwy from River St across to Arkan Ave when she collided with another vehicle.

A shaken witness on the scene said she drove over the crest of the hill just past the Sikh Temple to see the car sliding across the road on its side, with the bottom of the car exposed to southbound traffic.

Police, paramedics and firefighters attended the scene.

“The Woolgoolga fire crew assisted in getting the woman out of the car,” acting station commander for the Woolgoolga Fire Brigade Drew Armitage said.

The woman was taken to Coffs Harbour Base Hospital with minor injuries and traffic was delayed for a short time.
