Woman has 'very little recollection' of near-drowning

UPDATE: Police say a woman found floating unconscious in the Urangan Harbour on Sunday night has been released from the Hervey Bay Hospital.

The 57-year-old woman has spent the past two nights in the Intensive Care Unit after nearly drowning in the marina.

Sergeant Paul Byrne said the local woman suffered from medical conditions and had "very little recollection" of the incident.

EARLIER: The woman who almost drowned in Urangan Harbour on Sunday night may be released from hospital on Tuesday morning after speaking with police.

The woman aged in her 50s, who was found floating unconscious in the water, was pulled out about 10pm on Sunday and given CPR.

Sergeant Paul Byrne said she was rushed to the Hervey Bay Hospital, where she remained in intensive care in a stable condition on Monday afternoon.

"She is a resident who lives near the water," he said.

"It is believed she has had some sort of medical episode. Her husband has confirmed she has medical conditions."

On Monday, police were waiting for medical clearance to speak with her.
