Woman charged over teen assault

A WOMAN will face court today after allegedly assaulting a teenager in Coffs Harbour at the weekend.

The 17-year-old girl was walking along the Pacific Hwy about 5.30am on Sunday, when she was attacked by an unknown person.

It's alleged she was punched and kicked in the head, while also sustaining a wound to her chest.

Officers from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

Following inquires, a 30-year-old woman was arrested yesterday and charged with reckless wounding.

She was bail refused to appear at Coffs Harbour Local Court today.
