Winter workshops will help us to live more sustainably

LEARN how to "live lightly" with a new series of workshops on the Coffs Coast.

Coffs Harbour City Council, partnering with the Coffs Regional Community Gardens, is offering monthly workshops on sustainability.

Reducing power bills, reducing waste, local food production and boosting biodiversity are some of the themes on offer.

"It's great to see somewhere like the community garden become a place for people not only to grow vegetables, but to learn more about living sustainably and looking after our environment for present and future generations," said Cr Knight.

"Most of us have a small vegie patch in the backyard, but this program offers the opportunity to learn more about how to get the most out of it, as well as learning about how we can save money on our household bills and reduce our impact on the environment all at the same time."

The Winter Series

workshops are: seed saving on June 29, edible plants on July 27 and composting on August 24.

Bookings and further information about the Living Lightly workshops can be found at www.ourliving coast.com.au or by calling the council on 6648 4643.
