Win a weekend trip for two to Melbourne

TIGERAIR will launch its new Coffs Harbour to Melbourne air service on Wednesday, December 9, making the low-cost carrier the only airline flying direct between the cities three times a week.

The new service should provide a welcome boost for Coffs Coast tourism and is set to deliver an additional 1080 visitor seats through the Coffs Harbour Airport every week.

Annually, the airline said that would equate to more than 56,000 additional visitor seats.

Tigerair will run flights departing from Melbourne at 9.05am and arriving in Coffs Harbour at 10.55am on Mondays and Wednesdays.

A return service will then depart Coffs Harbour at 11.25am and arrive in Melbourne at 1.20pm on the same days

A Friday service will also depart Melbourne at 8.45am and arrive in Coffs Harbour at 10.35am.

The Friday return flight will depart Coffs Harbour at 11.05am and arrive in Melbourne at 1pm.

Tigerair CEO Rob Sharp said the airline, which entered a joint venture with Virgin Australia in July 2013, was evolving based on customer feedback and demand.

"The past couple of years have been focused on rebuilding the business and putting the right platform in place for future sustainable growth, with the customer at the core of everything we do," Mr Sharp said.

To celebrate the arrival of the new service, Tigerair and Accor Hotels are offering two lucky readers of The Coffs Coast Advocate a weekend away for two flying Tigerair to Melbourne.

The two lucky couples will enjoy a two-night stay at the Mercure Melbourne Treasury Gardens, including return airfares from Tigerair between Coffs Harbour and Melbourne.
