Win for youth mental health

YOUTH mental health on the Coffs Coast is set to get a huge boost, with the opening of a Coffs Harbour Headspace hub at the Coffs Harbour Police and Community Youth Centre.

Headspace community awareness project officer Danny Teece-Johnson said it was a huge boost for mental health in the area.

“It's a win for us and it's a win for the community,” he said.

“We have a great service with the top doctors in the region. We've struck up a great partnership with the PCYC, we've done some renovations and people can come in and see doctors, youth workers and councillors”

The official opening will be at the PCYC on August 1, with plenty of entertainment including DJs, bands, giveaways and a heap of prizes. The day will be attended by Member for Cowper Luke Hartsuyker, Headspace dignitaries and youth ambassadors, including Coffs Harbour local Kirby Drew, who is a member of the National Youth Advisory Group.
