Will-power keeps helicopter flying

THE Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter and local legal eagles have teamed up to raise money for the emergency service.

“Nearly half of all Australians die without a legal will, so by partnering with solicitors throughout the region, we are able to provide an invaluable service to the community, while also creating a unique fundraising opportunity for the rescue helicopter,” helicopter service GM Kris Beavis said.

Lawyers will donate their time and expertise to draft and/or update wills for residents on the Coffs Coast for $60 a person or $100 a couple on March 11 and 12.

Participating firms include Ticli Blaxland Lawyers in Coffs Harbour, Robson and Oliver Solicitors at Sawtell, and Filewood Carty Lawyers at Toormina.

“It is fundraising initiatives like Wills Day in which professional groups such as local solicitors, along with the support of the wider community, assist us in raising the necessary funds required to keep the rescue helicopter flying,” Mr Beavis said.
