Will full of confidence

WILL Power will be hoping he can build on his impressive drive at Edmonton when he contests this weekend's Mid-Ohio Indy 200.

The Toowoomba driver started 17th in Canada in the last race of the IndyCar Series before going on an overtaking mission to finish third.

It was a remarkable drive, one which rates up there with his best.

The Toowoomba driver heads into the Mid-Ohio Indy full of confidence after that drive.

He will need another strong performance if he is to regain his lead in the drivers' championship after dropping to third in the standings.

With only four rounds remaining, Power will be determined to return to the lead in a bid to win his first IndyCar championship.

Power has finished runner-up the past two years after fading late in the season.

American Ryan Hunter-Reay leads the series on 362 points, with Power's Penske team mate Helio Castroneves second on 339 points.

Power is three points behind in third.

The Mid-Ohio Indy starts in the early hours of Monday morning (AEST).
