We met them when they started and now they're all grown up

WHAT would their future hold?

That was what we wondered back in 2003 when identical twins from the Logan and Morris families embarked on their first day at Kuluin and Mountain Creek primary schools.

Now in Year 12 and just a week from their graduation at Maroochydore State High School, the twins have a bright future ahead.

Mackenzie and Riley Logan are preparing to embark on a nature documentary filming trip with National Geographic next year.

Mackenzie plans to study biomedical science and Riley wants to be an environmental educator.

Their ambitions were consistent with their childhood fascinations, when they would spend their days "trapping spiders and catching snakes", their mother Janine told the Daily in 2003.

"Think 'Steve Irwin as a child' and you have my boys," Ms Logan told the Daily in 2003.

"They're creature lovers and I'm sure they'll keep themselves busy at school."

Riley said he and his brother had remained very close and their love of nature had only become stronger.

"I don't think we've changed that much. We've always been pretty crazy," Riley said.

The Logan brothers were joined by Baillie and Mollie Morris - as well as three other sets of twins - completing their final day of class work at their high school yesterday.

Baillie and Mollie said a highlight of their secondary schooling had been becoming involved in community work and helping set up a culture of giving through volunteer work at the school.

The young women are active in the Lions' club of Mooloolaba.

Mollie was inspired by a trip to Cambodia to work in humanitarian aid overseas.

A cohort of 160 Year 12 students will graduate from Maroochydore High on Friday week, head of the senior school Shona Benjamin said yesterday.

"It's an exciting time, with mixed emotions," she said.
