WHILE the horses were racing, the fashionistas on the track embraced the catwalk during the frock off that is the Park Beach Plaza Fashions on the Field.

Bright colours, horse-themed prints and nuetral and warm tones were popular among this years entrants who executed their individual styles gracely on the catwalk.

From whimsical feathery pieces to bright floral arrangements, the hats were the centrepiece of most outfits for most trackside fashionistas.

Park Beach Plaza Fashions on the Field judge, Yvette Prewett said there was some tough competition on the track and was impressed by the high standard set by this years entrants.

"Just the amount of people we've had entering is more than we've had any other year so its fantastic to see people putting in the effort and giving it a real go," she said.

Harking back to vintage fashions of the 40s, this years Millinery Award winners donned stunning monochrome prints spiced up with lace and fur additions epitomising winter race day fashions.

Taking out the big fashions on the field Classical Lady Award was Tracey Press, of Newcastle, sporting a gorgeous teal blue and black plaid ensemble complemented with a black fur shrug.

This year is Tracey's fourth time at the Coffs Cup and enjoys the diversity of style showcased around the track.

"There is lots of good competition this year, I like coming up here because of the competition its great to see other womens outfits."
