Where there’s Ashes, expect there to be fire

MITCHELL Johnson (pictured) says English seamer Jimmy Anderson's call for the coming Ashes series to be played "in the right spirit" is hypocritical.

The Australia fast bowler was responding to Anderson's hope the Ashes would be "played in the same nature" as the good-spirited recent series England enjoyed against New Zealand.

Johnson, though, questioned Anderon's sincerity.

"That is interesting coming from him because he is probably one of the biggest (sledgers) in the England team," Johnson said.

"I don't think anything is going to change."

The left-armer, who finished with match figures of 5-85 in last week's four-day game against Kent, has been rested from the final warm-up match against Essex, which starts tonight.

Fellow quicks Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc return to the line-up ahead of the first Test in Cardiff next week.
