As part of the Sapphire to Woolgoolga upgrade of the Pacific Hwy, Roads and Maritime Service (RMS) provided $527,000 funding for a cycleway from Emerald Heights Dr to Sandy Beach Public School.

The 2.5 metre wide shared path/cycleway is expected to be completed in February, weather permitting.

There is an existing cycleway from the school crossing through to Coral Dr and Coffs Harbour City Council will be seeking further funds to complete the cycleway from Coral Dr to the highway overpass at the northern end of the village.

Council will also be starting work very shortly on cycleways at Headland Rd at Sapphire and Hoys Rd and Bucca Rd at Moonee Beach.
