What's on across the Coffs Coast this weekend

THIS weekend it's high octane thrills for all on the Coffs Coast. The Coffs Coast Airshow is back and promising to be the biggest and best ever.

This year celebrates 80 years since the construction of the airfield in Coffs Harbour and the formation of the Coffs Harbour Aero Club.

The show itself is only on Saturday, but the public will be allowed to access the airfield on Friday and Sunday as well to see the aircrafts arriving and leaving.

The Coffs Coast Skydivers will kick the festivities off at around 9:50am on Saturday and organisers expect the event to run through until around 4pm. Plenty of food and drinks will be available on site, as well as live music and entertainment to complete the day out.

One of the key attactions will be 'Connie' the HARS Super Constellation, you can actually get on board and have a poke around. You can also take joyrides in some legendary planes such as the P51 Mustangs and the Albatross Jet Trainer.

A real must-see will be the RAAF Roulettes. These highly-trained daredevils are simply amazing to watch and their breath-taking manouvers will make you forget all about the crick in your neck.

If you're planning on going along make sure you take hats and sunscreen with you. There won't be a lot of shade to be had at the airport and slip-slop-slap is essential to ensure you don't have to go to work on Monday looking like a lobster.

Once you've had enough of the smell of avgas, it's time to head to the International Buskers and Comedy Festival. On Saturday there's a family show at the Coramba Hotel from 2pm to 5pm and then adult only comedy at the Seaview Tavern in Woolgoogla from 9pm.

On Sunday you can catch Kevin Bloody Wilson at the Coffs Ex-Services Club.

For the full rundown of acts at the Busker's Festival, have a look on their website or get your copy in the Coffs Coast Advocate. The Advocate will have the full program printed in its Saturday 27th September edition. The program can also be collected atthe Coca-Cola Buskers Central tents, which will be dotted around the city.
