Where: Centenary Park, Lime St, Clermont.

What's happening: This is a free event celebrating everything that is Clermont. Plenty of food, music, free entertainment, displays, art, stalls, gold nuggets and family fun.

What's happening: Xavier Rudd returns to North Queensland for his first time to the region since 2015. Joining Xavier at all shows is chill-master Bobby Alu.

Johnny Cash Tribute Show

What's happening: Gather your friends and join Dail Platz as Johnny Cash for a night of entertainment. Canadian entertainer, Dail Platz has been able to capture not only the vocal style, but also the look and the personality of Johnny Cash.

The Magical World of Disney

Where: Mackay Surf Lifesaving Club

Cupcake Day Celebrations

When: Saturday, August 17 and Sunday, August 18, 10am - 2pm.

Where: RSPCA Mackay, Strickland Rd, Mackay.

What's happening: Join in the cupcake day celebrations with cupcakes to purchase from RSPCA's Adoption Centre. The event will help raise money for animals in the care of the RSPCA.

Mackay H-D Valley Thunder Run

When: Saturday, August 17, 10am.

Where: Mackay Harley-Davidson, 26 Peel Street, Mackay.

What's happening: The second annual Valley Thunder Run. This year all ride groups from the area are invited to be involved. With the help of MADHOG, Patriots, SOTSC and RWB Social Crew this year's Mackay Harley-Davidson Valley Thunder Run will be bigger and better than last year's. At the end of the ride will be a burnout competition, bike games, tattoo & beard competition, show & shine and pie eating comp. The ride leaves the dealership at noon sharp and the festivities will be held at the Pinnacle Hotel.

Where: Harrup Park Country Club.

What's happening: Mackay's second annual barbecue and beer festival, 18+ event. Featuring over 50 different beer and ciders, Mackay's Best Sausage Competition, barbecue meat smoking competition, food vendors, live music all day, chilli eating competition with prizes to be won.

Photo Walkabout

When: Sunday, August 18, 10am - noon.

Where: Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens.

What's happening: The August Photo walkabout will be themed around photographing birds. The walk will be led by a member of Birdlife who specialises in bird photography. Learn tips on which settings you need and getting as close as possible to birds. Hosted by the Friends of the Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens.

What's happening: A whale festival celebrating the departure of the majestic humpback whales as they head back down south on their long migration journey to Antarctica.
