Rosella Festival wows the crowd

WHAT a wow of an event last Saturday out at Woolooga at the Gympie region's first-ever Big Rosella Festival.

The car park was full and hordes of people were eagerly waiting for the gates to open.

The food was delicious, the drinks were tasty, the farm tours informative and staff manning the stands were rushed off their feet, serving customers and keeping up supplies.

Chefs Matt Golinski and Glen Barrett kept the crowds under the big top thoroughly entertained with their fabulous cooking skills and wonderful tips, resulting in some tasty tidbits for the crowd to enjoy.

CC Diaz supplied delicious concoctions from her kitchen while husband Greg led the tours through acres of freshly grown Petersen produce.

The free face-painting, by the talented Kelli MacAlpine, proved a winner with the little ones as they sported zebras, angels, tigers, butterflies and more.

With the help and support of the Petersen family and friends, it turned into an absolute smasher for their first-ever event and plans are already underway for 2017. The Big Rosella, now a local landmark, has put Woolooga firmly on the map and stands proudly atop the Roadside Stall on the corner of Reilly and Bauple-Woolooga Rds, for all the world to see.
