Westside juniors ace JDS

A HUGE contingent of 19 Westside Tennis Club/Harbour Tennis Academy juniors coached by Allan Pade and Ben Vandenberg travelled down the highway early on Sunday morning in the team bus to the latest round of the Junior Development Series (JDS) held in the Kempsey area.

Standouts at this tournament were 17-year-old Dylan Moran who won the 21s age group with a tough 6-4 win over Sawtell's Josh Repko.

12-year-old Siena De Salis is continuing her recent good form with a runner-up result in the 14 girls event against Port's Emily McColl by the score of 6-2.

The 14 boys age group is an interesting one with four boys representing Westside achieving some fine results.

Joe Whalan and Andrew Minotti found themselves in the seeded pool on Sunday and then in the play-off matches. Both boys made the quarter finals with Joe losing a tight match against Kempsey's Callum Neal by the score of 6-3. Jeff Kong and Tre' O'Brien both made it through their unseeded pools to make the play-off stage.

Pictured are Siena De Salis (runner-up in the 14 girls) and Dylan Moran (winner of the 21s).
