Website criticism clicked off by Coffs Council

COFFS Harbour City Council has refuted criticism of its website.

Arrawarra resident Richard Casey said in a letter to the Coffs Coast Advocate that some information on the council's website was out of date; information was difficult to find; council meeting agendas appeared late; and councillors' details were not listed.

A spokeswoman for the council said that if Mr Casey had clicked on the older awards listed, which were retained on the site because they were prestigious awards, the link would have taken him to a selection of newer awards.

She said business papers for council meetings were supposed to be up on the website by the Friday before the Thursday council meeting.

She said a technical problem involving the content management system had meant the agenda for the last council meeting was loaded late, but this problem had now been resolved.

The council website www.coffsharbour.nsw.gov.au contains more than 1500 pages of published information.
