Weather perfect for chilli-heads

PERFECT weather had crowds turning out in droves for the annual Sawtell Chilli Festival.

The rain stayed away and the cool, cloudy conditions encouraged hungry fans of spicy food to attack the wide range of chilli (and not so hot) dishes available from vendors.

Regular attendees report more variety among the stalls this year with a huge influx of out-of-towners joining familiar local faces.

Buskers cruised the street providing entertainment and local musicians kept everybody under their spell.

Sophie Dunn was one of the stars of the show after winning the award for best hat and most colourful costume.
