COFFS Coast Waste Services (CCWS) has had a busy five months, providing more than 350 local businesses with free waste assessments and recycling infrastructure.

Kim Gallery from CCWS said the response to the Bin Trim program funded by the NSW Environment Protection Authority had been fantastic.

"This program has the potential to divert up to an extra 2000 tonnes of recyclables from landfill each year. It's clear our local businesses see the value in this program and our environment," Kim said.

The Coffs Harbour, Bellingen and Nambucca councils are supporting the program by providing eligible local businesses with one or more large 360-litre recycling bins, at no extra cost to businesses.

Limited stocks of larger recycling bins are still available for eligible businesses in some areas.
