Warwick rugby side in Darling Downs C-grade field

WARWICK will be one of seven teams playing in the Darling Downs C-grade rugby union competition this season.

In 2012, Warwick went down to Goondiwindi in the major semi-final and then Chinchilla in the preliminary final to finish third.

Chinchilla and Warwick will both only field C-grade teams, Highfields is fielding the C-grade team for Gatton, and Dalby has returned to C-grade after not playing last season.

Premiers Goondiwindi, Toowoomba Bears and Rangers are all playing again.

Warwick will play its first game of the season on April 6 against Highfields at Highfields.

The first home game for the Water Rats will be against Dalby at Risdon Oval on April 27.

Club seniors secretary Terry Duggan said many of the club's games would be at 3pm.

"The time for each game will be determined by the clubs beforehand," Duggan said.

Admission will be free for all home games this season.

Players welcome at training at 6.30pm each Thursday at Risdon Oval.

Hard-working prop forward Craig Pettiford is the club coach.
