Wanderers win thriller to send Roar packing

Western Sydney Wanderers will face Adelaide United at Coopers Stadium next Sunday after a remarkable comeback broke Brisbane Roar hearts in an A-League semi-final classic.

Dario Vidosic fired home from close range 12 minutes into the second half of extra time as the Wanderers completed a turnaround that no one saw coming at Pirtek Stadium to win 5-4.

The Roar looked to be cruising to victory when it went 3-0 up inside 23 minutes thanks to goals from Dimitri Petratos from the penalty spot, an own goal from Andreu and a strike from Jamie Maclaren.

Brendon Santalab pulled a goal back before Dutchman Romeo Castelen made it 3-2 before the break.

Castelen equalised eight minutes into the second half before notching his hat-trick soon after to put the home side in front.

Maclaren scored his second to take the game into extra time where Vidosic struck after Mark Bridge's effort rebounded off the post and Roar keeper Jamie Young to snatch the win.
