Wallabies will put winning streak on line again All Blacks

THE Wallabies will put their seven-match winning streak on the line when they take on the all-conquering All Blacks in Sydney to kick off the Rugby Championship on August 16.

The 39-13 win over France on Saturday marked the first time since 2000 that Australia had won seven consecutive Tests.

The crowd of 43,188 who turned up to watch the demolition was also the biggest to attend a rugby Test at Allianz Stadium.

And the fans gave debutant Will Skelton a standing ovation when he left the field in the 56th minute after scoring Australia's first try of the match.

While the 3-0 series win against the French highlighted Australia's depth, taking on the All Blacks will be a much tougher challenge.

Criticised for being too old and too slow after narrow victories against England on its tour of New Zealand, the All Blacks stepped up the pace in Hamilton on Saturday night, wrapping up the series with a 36-13 win.

Blockbusting winger Julian Savea was the star for the hosts with three tries, the last one coming after the final whistle.

RESULTS:

AUSTRALIA 39 (I Folau 2, W Skelton, M Hooper, N Phipps tries; B Foley 4 cons, 2 pens) FRANCE 13 (G Guirado try; M Machenaud pen, con; B Dulin pen) in Sydney on Saturday afternoon.

NEW ZEALAND 36 (J Savea 3, A Smith 2 tries; A Cruden 3 cons, pen; B Barrett con) ENGLAND 13 (M Yarde try; F Burns 2 pens; D Cipriani con) in Hamilton on Saturday night

SOUTH AFRICA 31 (Two penalty tries, C Hendricks, W Le Roux tries; M Steyne pen, 4 cons) WALES 30 (J Roberts, A Cuthbert, K Owens tries; D Biggar 3 pens, 3 cons) in Port Elizabeth on Saturday night.
