Wait is over, it's time for some action
IS a six-and-a-half hour wait to see a doctor at the Coffs Harbour Health Campus acceptable?
Some may argue it has become the norm, given the increased pressures on the health service, but surely we shouldn't let it become so.
For Tony Creer and his daughter, April, it was a nightmare, but we believe they are just one of many now having to face up to a third-world health service for a supposed 'Premier' State.
And while we have nothing but admiration for the way the frontline doctors and nurses go about their business treating patients, we can only wonder what is next from a bankrupt State Government intent of destroying a once proud health service.
Quality people who have genuine desires to help people are in danger of walking away because of the unacceptable levels of stress being placed on them.
We would urge all Coffs Coast residents to back MP Andrew Fraser's rally call at the Health Campus on Saturday and show our lame State Government what we think of their mismanagement of our health service.
To arrive at any hospital in NSW at 1pm and still be there at 8pm awaiting the advice of a doctor, is clearly not acceptable in 2008, Mr Rees.
