COFFS Harbour Rugby Club has started the off-season rebuilding process by reappointing Rob Waddy as first-grade coach for the 2015 season.

It's a strong vote of confidence in the amiable rugby man, with this being his third season in the top job.

"I'm looking forward to taking the club back to the top position in 2015," Waddy said.

He will be supported by new reserve-grade coach Rob "Chopper" Denne, who takes over from long-serving Paul Butcher.

"Robert has played a mix of first and reserve grade over the years and as a talented scrum half will bring plenty of toughness and fun to the reserve-grade team and club as a whole," Waddy added.

"We welcome him back after a year off and look forward to his involvement again."

Under-18s will be the domain of Bruce Wilson, who steps up from a successful stint with the under-16s.

An extremely hands-on coach, Wilson does the job of many and his best attribute is getting on with younger players and getting the best out of them no matter what the ability of the individual.

His player to watch is Jesse Kirkman.

Tony Cross will lead the under-16s, with Howard Winchester assisting.

A new structure will be introduced to under-14s in 2015 and Shane Oxley will be the head coach of this group.

"As most would know in this age group, Shane loves his rugby and this shines through in the kids he coaches," Waddy said.

"All coaches will be liaising over the coming weeks to determine when pre-season training will start.

"For seniors this will be in January."

This will start with sessions at Jetty Beach on January 8 from 5.30pm.

Players should meet underneath the jetty and bring joggers, swimmers and a towel.

It's then back to the same spot on January 15 before heading back to TJ Jung Quarries Rugby Park for two sessions of grass training on January 20 and 22 from 6pm.

On Sunday, January 18, a golf day will be held in conjunction with Southern Cross University Marlins.

Keep an eye on the Coffs Coast Advocate for details of how to be involved in the fun.
