Volunteers, toys needed for centre

DAWN Song, Bellingen’s community-based childcare centre, is calling upon members of the community to assist at a new year’s working bee.

The day will begin at 8am, Saturday, January 9.

The centre is installing a new outdoor craft sink, making furniture and toy repairs, replacing the climbing frame with wooden ‘stepping stones’ and cleaning the facility from top to toe in preparation for re-opening on Monday, January 11.

The toys and craft materials, especially those for older children, are in sore need of ‘refreshment’.

Donations of toys (new or pre-loved in good condition) and craft materials made of natural materials would be gratefully received – in particular toys that are appropriate for older boys.

The centre is calling on willing helpers to bring gardening tools, cleaning materials, furniture repairing skills and tools, a plate of food to share, inspiration, ideas, energy and enthusiasm to Dawn Song Children’s Centre, 1 Elliot Close, North Bellingen.

Please contact Boaz on 0404 473 564 for more information and come along.

  • Dawn Song Children’s Centre still has some places available for children aged 2-6.

The centre is open from 8am to 6pm every day from Monday, January 11.

Please call the office on 6655 2304 for more information and to make an appointment to visit the centre.
