Vikings smash SCU to surge to rugby premiership favouritism

WITH a handful of matches remaining before play-offs begin, the question now is which team will be able to stop Hastings Valley from claiming another Upper Mid North Coast Rugby championship?

The Vikings were in fine form downing Southern Cross University 81-7, a score that hasn't been inflicted on a Coffs Harbour-based team for many years.

However, the result that will most please Coffs Snappers will be the defeat of Kempsey at the hands of Port Pirates.

Cannonballs were sitting just above Coffs on the premiership ladder and will come north on Saturday for the Old Boys muster at TJ Jung Quarries Field at Toormina.

A win to the home side will be a giant step towards securing hosting rights of the elimination semi final when the two clubs are due to meet again.
