VIDEO: Ouch! Russell will wax his hairy back for charity

SOMEONE may have to gag Russell Booth or tie him to the bed - but it's not what you think.

The Maryborough man has volunteered to have his entire back waxed during The World's Greatest Pubfest in Maryborough and it's all for a good cause.

Russell, who has a very hairy back, hasn't ever waxed anything before, and the closest he has come to the pain of waxing is strapping tape on his legs.

"I might have to be gagged or tied down…I will probably scream," Russell said.

"I'm just going to do it, no practice."

The 40-year-old said seeing so many people in his life affected by cancer was the main motivation to remove the thicket of hair on his back.

Russell is hoping to get his mate's daughter on board who is a cancer survivor and beauty therapist in training.

On May 1 he is willing to let supporters pull off a strip.

"If they pay to rip it off, they can do it," Russell said.

All the funds raised in the lead up to Russell's back wax and on the day will go towards Cancer Council's Relay for Life.

To support Russell in the lead up to his back wax visit Relay for Life or phone Russell on 0413 890 526.
